Alaska Baseball League Announces All-League Teams and Awards

Ahead of the 2024 Top of the World Series Championship, the ABL has announced the results of this year's round of awards voting. The final decisions are as follows, with Miners in bold:

All-League First Team

First Base: Jordan Jaffe (Chinooks)

Second Base: Max Roffwarf (Oilers)

Shortstop: Luke Heefner (Glacier Pilots)

Third Base: Chase Wilcox

Catcher: Brody Briggs (Bucs)

Utility: Andrew Lamb (Bucs)

Outfield: Drake Kerr, Jayden Hill (Chinooks), Colin Robson (Oilers)

Starting Pitchers: Jack Hostetler, Frankie Gulko (Chinooks), Cole Carlon (Bucs), Tyler Stewart (Glacier Pilots), Nolan Livsey (Chinooks)

The Miners miss out on all of the top awards, but still get four of their players onto the league's first team. Interestingly, with the omission of Mat-Su's Tucker Timmerman and Brandyn Durand, this list is missing the ABL's top starting pitcher by ERA as well as its top home run hitter. The last-place Chinooks also achieve eight names on the list, an outstanding total for the club.

For the Miners, these accolades are certainly an honor, but Mat-Su won't be satisfied until it captures the ABL championship.
